Games Exhibition

On Wednesday night the games studios held their exhibition to show off the games they had been working on. Some were apps and some were computer based games but were played with an xbox controller. The apps are all available on the google play store apps and I believe the computer based games are all available on steam.

Anyways, I went to check out the app I was working with called Disco Danger! This was the first time I had played the app myself instead of watching others play it and it was fun to play with.

So the basis of the game is that you have to move your character around the dance floor and the obstacles until you get to your partner, but you are limited to only moving on a single colour. For example, for the level below I would have to move onto the blue squares. If there was a red square in front of me the character wouldn’t move until I moved onto another blue square. The squares changed colours on the beat of the music so if you weren’t listening it would be hard to know when the squares would change. To make it all harder there is a time limit of about 50 seconds for each level.

At the exhibition they ended up using the sell sheet I had created but unfortunately they had changed it without my help so some parts of the sell sheet looked uneven but everything was still readable and that is the main goal.

Altogether the night was pretty fun and I had a great time trying out all of the games available.
